Size 5 mm (U.S. 8) circular knitting needle 29" [73.5 cm] long or size needed to obtain gauge.

Gauge

18 sts and 24 rows = 4" [10 cm] in stocking st.

Instructions

Top edging: With RS facing, A and circular needle, pick up and knit 189 sts evenly across top edge of Afghan as follows: Pick up and knit 17 sts across top edge of Right Side edging. (Pick up and knit 39 sts across top edge of Motif) 4 times. Pick up and knit 16 sts across top edge of Left Side edging.
Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:
1st row: (WS). *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Rep last row seed st pat 6 times more.
Cast off in pat.

Bottom edging: With RS facing, A and circular needle, pick up and knit 189 sts evenly across top edge of Afghan as follows:
Pick up and knit 17 sts across cast on edge of Right Side edging. (Pick up and knit 39 sts across bottom edge of Motif) 4 times. Pick up and knit 16 sts across cast on edge of Left Side edging. Do not join. Working back and forth across needle in rows, proceed as follows:
1st row: (WS). *K1. P1. Rep from * to last st. K1.
Rep last row seed st pat 6 times more.
Cast off in pat.
