My name is Debbie and I have worked at Bernat for 26 years. I work in the Yarn Finishing Department and look after the label inventory. I have been married for 31 years and have a beautiful daughter and 2 wonderful grandsons.
I first learned to knit in Brownies when I was 7 years old. My first project was to knit a square (and keep it square) to practice the knit and purl stitches. With the help of my mom (an experienced knitter), I moved on to knitting clothes for my dolls. I still love to knit and do it as often as I can - there is always a sweater waiting for them under the Christmas tree for each of my neices and nephews.
While working here I have knit with many different Bernat yarns. My favourite Bernat yarns is Bernat Softee Chunky - it knits up so fast! After all these years I still find it amazing that by taking two needles, some yarns and a new pattern I'll have a beautiful garment in the end.
For my next project, I'm going back to the baby yarns as we are expecting our third grandchild in July!
