Instructions

Note: Shawl is worked sideways from point to point.
Cast on 2 sts.
1st row: (RS). Inc 1 st in first st. K1.
2nd row: Knit.
3rd row: (RS). Inc 1 st in first st. Knit to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows until there are 18 sts, ending with a WS row.

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). K17. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd and alt rows: Knit.
3rd row: K16. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
5th row: Inc 1 st in first st. Knit to end of row.
6th row: Knit.
Rep last 6 rows until there are 61 sts, ending with 6th row.

Proceed as follows:
1st row: (RS). Inc 1 st in first st. Knit to last 2 sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
2nd and alt rows: Knit.
3rd row: K17. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
