Crochet-Along Clue 1

Hello All:
So I got the first clue, I had all squares done on Wed night. I did like starting in the round. My Mother~in~law is doing this project with me and I was amazed at how wonderful it was that she picked it up right away! So very proud of her. We did the first one together and I only had to help her with the second one once, by the third she was on her way. She had never done any rounds before. I wasn't sure where to start with teaching her. She's already working on a small project with the new skill she's learned. I so excited she's able to build her skills on this project. I wish I didn't crochet so fast though! Can't wait til Wednesday! I just think this is a great way for crocheter's to enhance and expand their skills, thanks Bernat!

:huh: Well today arrived and i do not have my yarn. i missed the sale at Micheals and now i will have to order or use another brand of yarn. I did the last CAL , but I did not finish when everybody else did. I have plenty of Love That yarn and i also have some Red Heart Super Saver. Would these yarns work for this afghan?

The Micheals store in my town carry Wavery for Bernat in two colors only. I tried Target, Walmart, JoAnn fabrics and all stores here that sell yarn. Micheals was the only one that had any Waverly for Bernat. I bought the one color from Micheals I had intended to use and then matched the others colors I had wanted by Waverly to other brands of yarn. I matched all the sizing , weighted info from the Waverly tag to tags on the other brands. They are as soft as the Waverly for bernat and the colors are really close. The Waverly for Bernat seems to be a bit better in quality in my opinion. Next time I will not wait till last minute so I can order my yarn from Waverly web page. (hoping there will be another CAL)

My secret shame is that I SUCK at technology but I will have my younger sister help me & I'll try to have a picture up by this Wednesday. I'm also really bad at spelling & geography but that's neither here nor there...

Oh my gosh, I am working so hard to pace myself so that I don't finish everything before the next clue. Though I suppose, at worst, I just get multiple projects going... right?!

I'm doing 2 CAL and a babette for my soon to be adopted nephew. I have lots of time to crochet so having 3 going shouldn't be a problem.

Finished all of clue 1. my colors are MC ( Ivory ), Color A ( Dark Olive), Color B ( Light Taupe ), Color C ( Gray Mist ), Color D ( Light Sage ). Since i missed the sale at micheals i am using I Love That Yarn. I tried to keep my colors in sync with the Waverly colors, and also balancing out my Dark and Light colors. My gauge came out perfect with size H hook. Bring on Clue 2.
