Crochet-Along Clue 1: Spoilers and Photos

Here's mine .. I really don't like the Butter along with the Greek Sea .. I know it was part of the recommended colour palette but for me, it's too yellow when I wanted more of a beach sandy colour. It looks more beige on my computer screen and way more yellow in person.

My local store didn't have the colours I wanted so I ordered on line but maybe I'll go see if they have a colour that I'll like better than the Butter.

Either way .. someone's getting yellow mittens or slippers or something .. LOL .. but it's not going in this afghan.

I'm using Sundrift with Greek Sea. That might be the "beachy" tone you are looking for. Good luck!

Hi everyone! I finished my sqaures along with my friend who I am teaching to crochet using this CAL! I wove in all my tails last night after this pic was taken.

Does anyone else use the magic circle technique?

I used the magic circle and my final piece looks the same. Of course, once I block it, the piece will look a little more square like the diagram, but I'm going to crochet all of the first set before I block them.

All the color combos are so pretty. Can't wait to be able to begin. Yarn is suppose to be in Friday, so I'll probably have to work like crazy to catch up with all of you!

I finished my last square on Saturday. This is the first chance I got to post a picture.

I kind of took it slow because they were so fun to make that I didn't want to stop but here are my squares. I had gotten a great deal at Michael's on a 1-day sale for Loops & Threads so that is what I used. My contrasting color (not shown) is grass (it's kind of a bright green). The colors shown are true grey, navy, royal, and aqua. I <3 blues if you couldn't tell.

Wow. Everyone's squares are awesome! I finally finished mine i cant seem to figure 2 things out though:
1. Why is the darker colored square smaller than all the others when everything else was exactly the same?

I've noticed that sometimes different colors will give me slightly different gauges even with the same brand yarn. It seems like darker colors are sometimes thinner than lighter colors. Usually the difference is so small it doesn't really matter
