I am enjoying looking at everyone's colour combinations almost as much as actually doing my own. There are going to be some awesome afghans when we get finished! This is my first big project - only made scarves and dishcloths, and I am really having fun. I am excited about tomorrow's clue.

i SWEAR i wasn't trying to hurry! I think this other project, this big granny i'm working on ....i've been just doing bazillions of these one-color, tiny grannies, while watching tv or such. I get into the zone where i'm barely looking at what i'm doing.

i'll try to slow down on this next one. lol

here they are! my cal clue 1 squares! I haven't been blocking them yet. I think I'll do that when all the other clues are done

Here are my squares. I did block them (my first time ever!). Not sure I would go to the extra work each time, but I think it was helpful for this motif, which was kind of flippy-floppy.

I finally blocked them a second time. This time around I soaked them in water until they dripped. Then I pinned them down and took my blow dryer and dried them. They stayed square except one that is slightly round but still square. Apparently you have to soak them to block them properly.

Ok, I will try that! Thank you!

Steaming them will work too.

I finished clue 1 last night and am anxiously awaiting 10am for clue 2 to appear! I'll post pictures either later today or tomorrow. I'm just using up some stash yarn so I hope my colors look OK in the end!

I got all my squares done but I forgot to upload a photo! I'll do it at the same time as clue #2... which will be out todayyyyyy!!!!! Not that I'm excited or anything.

Last week when I started making my squares I realized that I just wasn't crazy about my main color, antique. So, a visit to the yarn store later, my main color is now cadet. I really like how the colors look together now, and I can't wait to get the second clue in a little while. I'm trying to stay busy doing housework, but I keep checking back to see if it gets posted a little early. For those of us on the east coast, it's a long time between waking up and getting the clue!!! Here's a picture of my little squares with their long tails
