Bummer, I don't think we have one of those stores here (CT). All we have are Michael's Joanns and AC Moore. I will definitely keep my eyes open for them.

They are putting a new one in not too far from me. I can't wait to check it out!

I'm looking forward to Clue #3 also, but I still have a few more #2's to finish on my second afghan. Working away....

Way to go ladies. I'm so enjoying this CAL. It's my first one and even with the struggles with clue 2, I'm so enjoying this!

Clue 2

Postby sewbee42 » Tue Feb 28, 2012 3:15 pm

Woo hoo! Finished with Clue 2, all ends trimmed, and blocked. I even put out the little bits of yarn for the birds to build nests. Now...to make a St. Paddy's hat for my grand-dog while waiting for Clue 3. Sandy

I just did my last motif, did it way too loosy goosy and it ended up being almost 12 " with my H hook.

Joanns Online has them on sale. But not in stores.

Hi I'm new to crocheting. I made my swatch & it came out perfect. Then I made clue 2 with 5mm & 5.5mm hooks. They both came out 9 inches. I finally got 10 inches using 6.5mm hook with 3rd one. Is anyone else having this problem with the gauge???

Well, after three attempts, I finally got clue #2 to be close to being 11 inches (10 3/4" to be exact). However, I am holding off on completing the rest of these blocks until I see what clue #3 is going to look like. When I looked at pictures of last year's CAL, the finished afghan looked both decorative and functional. However, the clues so far for this year have way too many "holes" to be anything but decorative; I was hoping for functional as well and I don't want to "waste" any more yarn. Maybe I should learn to knit, as they have more practical squares so far!
