Been so disheartened by the gauge issue, that I kind of lost my enthusiasm to work on this clue over the last week... not a fan of doing work then ripping it out and starting all over again. Started re-doing my last 4 rows on my first Clue 2 piece last night using extended double crochet... it's still not 11 inches, but it's closer and is the same tension and hook size as Clue 1... Hoping for some motivation tonight to make more progress and that the next clue does not have these gauge issues...

The 6 medallians are finished after much ripping and recrocheting! I just couldn't seem to keep the pattern straight. I did learn how to read the chart as well as the written pattern. I am concerned because some medallians are larger than others by about 1/2 inch per side. Will they be okay once they are blocked, or will the smaller ones look different? The larger ones are very close to the blocking template size.

This is so fun. I look forward each week for the next clue. Knowing there are so many others working the same pattern is such a plus! I am finding people have the same queries as I and shortly thereafter an answer appears. Love it! So encouraging to be in this group.

Hey! That's like what I mentioned about a month ago! Dyes really do make a difference in the texture, softness, and thickness of yarn. I've noticed that the lighter yarns are always a little bit softer. And the darker yarns are sometimes thinner.

Shandeh, I remember that which got me to thinking I might try changing the color which worked. Now I need to hope that when using the yarn I changed from that it will work out with the clue associated with that color. :)

I've got one more to do for clue 2 and I.ll be ready for Wednesday's new clue.

This really is so much fun. :)

This sounds interesting, is there a site that shows more about the difference in the dyeing technique. Never heard of this before.

For some reason I decided that the new clues come out on Tuesdays this week and sat in front of my computer pressing refresh for ten minutes at 7:00am
