I'm lagging behind. On the the last motif with A then the 2 with MC. So tired. We stayed awake all night to watch the Indy 500. Wow what a race it was. Maybe clue 3 won't be so much then I can get caught up.

I wonder if anyone will give us a clue on which colors we need for tomorrow's clue. I bring my Mystery yarn to work on for Wednesdays. Would be wonderful to know which colors I might need (instead of bringing them all).

If my information is still correct, you will need Main Color (MC) and Contrast C for Clue #3.

I just did my last motif, did it way too loosy goosy and it ended up being almost 12 " with my H hook.

Hi I'm new to crocheting. I made my swatch & it came out perfect. Then I made clue 2 with 5mm & 5.5mm hooks. They both came out 9 inches. I finally got 10 inches using 6.5mm hook with 3rd one. Is anyone else having this problem with the gauge???

You will find several others who have had to use a larger hook for this clue. The chains need to be very loose. Some crocheters have done 6 chains instead of 5. And others are just adding an extra row of crochet around the edge, to get their motif to the right size. And, some are trying to block their motif to 11 inches.

Can't wait for clue #3, in the meantime I started working on the KAL so I would have something to do while I wait for the next clue, but it's going slow, I'm not a fast knitter.

I'm doing the same. I have all my blocks made for the CAL, but I'm only on my 5th for clue 1 of the KAL. I wonder if I'll ever catch up!

Hey! That's like what I mentioned about a month ago! Dyes really do make a difference in the texture, softness, and thickness of yarn. I've noticed that the lighter yarns are always a little bit softer. And the darker yarns are sometimes thinner.

Shandeh, I remember that which got me to thinking I might try changing the color which worked. Now I need to hope that when using the yarn I changed from that it will work out with the clue associated with that color.

I've got one more to do for clue 2 and I.ll be ready for Wednesday's new clue.

This really is so much fun.

This sounds interesting, is there a site that shows more about the difference in the dyeing technique. Never heard of this before.

I don't know of a site about dyeing changing yarn. I have just learned from experience. Just go to your local yarn shop, and compare the feel and texture and thickness of the same yarn in different colors, and you'll see what I mean.

I have only completed my #1 motifs. So far, I've only done 1 and a half of Clue #2. But, I have an excuse! I've been busy talking to all of you every day in the forum!

No time for my blanket now. I'll be able to work on it a little at a time, though. So, no worries.
