Another quick question..is clue two supposed to be like a lot bigger than clue one? mines looking like its gonna be but I can't print off the templates to know how big they are meant to be.

The octagon shaped template for Clue #2 is much bigger than the square for Clue #1.

Clue #1 is 4.5 inches x 4.5 inches
Clue #2 is 11 inches across

Thanks so much!

I just finished my first one in Clue two and it seems to look like the diagram and be the right size. I am pleased! Now to just get through the 5 more hahaha,

My head is spinning in trying to do round 7 in Clue 2...hope I'm doing it right. I, too, decided this might be a good way to learn to crochet! Maybe I'm crazy and not just dizzy.

Thank you so much for your encouragement. I stuck with it for more time than I care to admit, but finally got it (with the help of markers) and now I'm sailing through the rest of the Clue 2 motifs (I did have to up the hook size to make it the correct size). Now I can say I'm really enjoying doing this!

Exactly how big is this block supposed to be????? Wondering if mine is too small and I should do it over with a larger hook before I begin a 2nd one....thanks! My first blocks turned out exactly to gauge.

They should be 11 inches across ... and the first clue block will fit on each of the sides of the octagonal ... if it is smaller then the pieces may not mesh as they ought to when stitched together ... the first were to be 4 1/2 inches square. Before you frog it, try the Clue #1 blocks on the edges and if small but not by much, try blocking it ... pin it to the desired size and then determine if it needed a lot of stretching to achieve this size ... if so then frog ... if not them block it using steam or spray and let it dry. That should coax it to become the right size, and remain thus. The first squares should fit on the sides.

They may be a bit shy of the 11 inches (mine were actually closer to 10"), BUT will block (or stretch out) to the 11 inches. Congrats on getting into crocheting! May you be a life-long happy hooker ;) LOL!
