It is very helpful to me to see how it is supposed to look at each round, so I know where perhaps mine fell off the track (silly round 5 with those hiding ch1 spaces)

I'm glad my pictures help! I was thinking about it last night as I was working, and decided that a photo of each round might be a good idea.

Out of curiosity I weighed my motifs from clue 2 and 3. Actually more out of necessity I weighed them, I wanted to know if the little bit of the end of a ball would be enough to make another motif. I also wanted to know if clue 3 used more yarn than clue 2- I really want to make clue 3 in place of clue 2 on my second CAL. My first CAL will be the actual design but I did not like the look (it worked just perfect for me so it wasn't a size thing) so I did not want to make it for the second afghan.
So, long story short, clue 3 weighs less than clue 2. 2 was 34 grams and clue 3 was only 30 grams. So now I do not have to worry I will use up more yarn than called for when I substitute motifs!

Thank you for a great idea :bravo: I am seeing silver wrapped white yarn on midnight blue background for Xmas. Maybe even a tree skirt made with them since our collection of ornaments are snowmen related. Going off to add it to project list.

I have been looking for a great tree skirt pattern--thanks to you for your silver/blue suggestion--I can picture it now!!!! I see a super excuse to make a trip to the yarn store!!!

This morning I took a couple of quick pictures of the motif I was working on with a couple of hints that I found helpful to me.

On round 4 I was having issues finding the right "remaining loops" from the chain after I made the petals. I went through each petal and on the one side only (the other side was easy to figure) I put stitch markers in each loop I was to sc in.

Then when I started working around the petals, I would move those stitch markers to the ch1 spaces so that when I come back around to do the dc and Tr2tog, I wouldn't have to "hunt" them down.

Not sure this makes any sense, but it's helping me with round 4 and to prepare for round 5.

Your photo and explanation are great and I plan to try it on my next one. I don't have stitch markers but will use short pieces of "other color" yarn to mark the ch 1 spaces. Thanks for the help!

I realized that on the Tr2tog in the 5th round, I actually did 2 Tr together in the first required space and 2 Tr in the second space instead of one in each side together. Since it does not seem to make any difference with the size of the motif and since I actually like the way it looks, I am planning to leave it and do the others to match. I learned more that one thing from this clue!!!

It looks beautiful! :bravo:

Thanks--I am trying to get all the daily chores done so I can work on my second one.
