I was so excited to have today off work so I could get an early start. But mother nature had other plans. Heavy snow overnight (still snowing), electricity went off at 8 am ... really did that have to happen! Electricity finally back on and clue is printed, I'm off to crochet!

I am half way through the first motif. I just fastened off. Where is the mistake? Do I need to start over? Thanks

When I click on "Save Link As", it gives me a window to save and the file format is PDF, so you *should* be saving the file. Which browser are you using? If you send Jen a PM, she might be able to help you through it. There could be several reasons your "refresh" isn't working. You might want to close down your Internet browser, then delete all your temporary internet files, then re-open it again. I did that, and everything is working great now.

Sounds like we all needed a good laugh starting this 3rd motif. I have finished one motif and am pleased with the look and size.

Question right off the bat before we start: with back loops, should those of us who are left-handed work in the front loop instead? Please remember that while the right side faces a right handed crocheter's body, the right side for a lefty faces AWAY. Thanks for answering before I start.

Gosh, that's a good question....which I have no idea how to answer.
Any other left-handers here, who know the answer?

I'm also a lefty and found this clue really hard too! I've started it over several times. I have just reversed the diagram so it is backwards, meaning that if you are left handed you can now follow it going clockwise, the way I crochet. I'm hoping this will solve all my issues and maybe it will help other lefties out!

Okay, I too am having the same difficulty with Round 4 wording versus the chart...
So where it says "ch 3. Working across opposite side of point, 1 sc in next sc. Ch 1. Miss next hdc. 1sc in next dc. Ch 1. Miss next dc. 1 sc in next dc. Miss next dc.**1 sc in next sc." This is where the problem I'm having is, the part in red does not say sc, it says dc, but the chart looks like it's supposed to be in the sc, correct?

I wasn't even trying to figure out what the afgan will look like in the end and all of a sudden it just came to me. I am hoping that next weeks clue will throw my thought pattern for a loop, otherwise I'll be irritated with myself for being so dang observant! grumble grumble and grrrrrr!

I am just finishing going through the 16 pages of forum, so I am now ready to start my first.

Yeah I am really quick at working things like this up. I don't know why, I always have been. I remember 10 years ago on my very first crochet project (a baby layette), my best friend who was teaching me had to keep telling me to slow down because I would go so fast I would mess something up and then just be a big ball of tears because I screwed up. Now, to be honest I might have to tear out one of the motifs because it is slightly small, but other than that, I only have 1 more to go and I will be done for the week. I am thinking about getting some of my scrap yarn out and doing a second one for my mother-in-law. I keep saying I want to make her something and this seems like a good project to do, since I seem to be able to work up all the motifs in a day or two. I feel like I am tooting my own horn, but really I don't know why or how I am so fast...it just comes naturally to me to be quick I guess. On projects like this I sort of wish I was slower because then I wouldn't have to wait a whole week before I could come back to it!

Oh, pleeeeeeese don't call it scrap yarn--that will hurt its feelings; refer to it lovingly as stash yarn--a much more noble name!!!

does yarn have feelings? if so some of the names *I* have called certain yarns over the years probably put it into therapy.
