I'm getting ready to upload a couple of pictures on the spoiler thread that shows how I am handling this because I had the same issue.

going forward we'll change the pdf text to black. This has been troublesome for a lot of folks, and there's no need for style to get in the way of our crochet! (that rhymes!)

Thanks Type1Mom, I will definitely take a look at your pictures. I had to laugh last night after struggling and then feeling so confident that I had it, only to be derailed when I was so close to finishing the first one. Oh well, I am definitely learning a lot with these motifs!

Clue 3....life just KEEPS interrupting!

Postby JazzHooked » Thu Mar 01, 2012 10:47 am

I've got the pattern down, and 4 of the 6 done...but things keep getting in the way. Like now...i'm working. well, i'm in the office anyway, in theory I'm working. last night I had my semi-weekly crochet group. then i ran into an old friend and stood in the parking lot yacking for an hour. THEN this morning I get to frantically reschedule work due to calling hours on Monday....my business partner/husband was supposed to be on a job in texas all week.

But my sitter is out sick again so I'll only get a half day to work. darn. I guess I'll have to crochet after I pick up the 5 yr old at pre-K. :idonno:

From what I'm reading, I must be the only person who didn't have problems with gauge. After I upped to a J hook on Motif 1, I have had no trouble at all with the size of each round.

nankaeia wrote:I found Clue 3 much easier than Clue 2. But I did crochet my daughter a "chaos quilt" last year with something similar to this star shape.

I had to teach myself how to crochet left-handed since my mom is right-handed and I couldn't figure out what she was doing many many years ago. She brought me a wonderful little book "Crocheting for Left-handers" (one for knitting too but I just could wrap my brain around that one. :? ) The only difference in my crocheting is that I stitch the opposite way the charts.

3 down and 3 to go on first and then to second afghan. :cloud9:

Nankaeia, can you post a picture of that book? I have a daughter who, when I first taught her to crochet, could not get the hang of doing it right handed so she switched to her left hand and had no trouble other than it was a bit harder for me to help her being a righty. I would love to get her that book as she is now married and has a daughter of her own. THANKS!!!

Thanks to the crochet team for all your hard work. I know some questions on here were not easy. I do appreciate all the help you have given to everybody. :cloud9:

Now I am going to go out to ACMoore and get me some Bernat yarn because I think I deserve it.

LarcYarn wrote:Just like in Clue 2, I'm not breaking yarn and reattaching (between r4 and r5) . I have slipped up the outside loops of the star arm from r4. It rotates my rounds by one arm, but it looks the same. As I did r 5, I enclosed my slips, as if they were not there, making them hardly obvious.

Nice pattern this time! I'm liking the harder one!

Could you tell me what you mean by enclosed for your slip stitches? I slipped up the star, but it got quite thick. Thanks
