Ok, I have to admit this motif is very difficult especially when I can't seem to do it by memory and i'm on my 2nd to the last motif, oh well ;)

I had one done, but then found out that the colors I used were about as wrong as they could be for the colors she's using. I know she would still like the blanket, but I get a teeny bit obsessive about things like this. (I'm sure none of you can relate to that!). So I started a new one--found yarn that's perfect and a stitch that works up pretty quickly (a fan stitch). So I'm enjoying that, but I'm going to be a couple of weeks behind with the CAL. I still have two to finish in Clue 2 and haven' t started Clue 3. Thanks to all of you for the helpful hints--they will give me a boost when I get back to this project.

Have you tried working on both at the same time? I have found that I can finish all the motifs for each clue in about 3 days. They are really simple and work up quickly. I, myself, have 3 afghans in process in addition to a full time job and weekend grandchildren. Somehow I even manage to squeeze in time for my hubby

Whoa, Ingrid--you're Superwoman! I probably will be able to pick up the motifs again sooner that I thought. The blanket is moving faster than I thought it would. But I'm a slow crocheter (is that a word? I don't want to say hooker!). It's a little over 1/3 done. Maybe I'll work on Clue 3 to take a break from the blanket. Once I get it, the additional motifs go pretty fast.

Okay all done with clue 3 for blanket 1. Just need to get going on the ones for blanket 2. (Lol, it seemed like a good idea after week 1 gave me a false sense of security :crown: )

Hello everyone,

Having my husband type this because I was told not to do anything with my right hand. I had broken my ring finger a few months ago and found out I hand a non cancerous tumor on the same area that it broke. It healed but had to work on closing my hand so that the finger can get back to its normal way but that didn't happen apparently I hit my finger again :ire: and hurt it so bad :tears: that I can not do anything with it. I'm unable to do my beading or more the less crochet and I was look forward to this because it would have been the first time doing a crochet along. I have been reading the post and enjoying the pictures that I have seen so far and I want to let everyone that the colors are beatiful you guys are going to have a beautiful blanket.

Maybe next time I can join you guys in the next crochet along.

I'm left handed and always just do any pattern I've used exactly as it is written. My mother who is right handed can not figure out why mine come out exactly right all the time! So, I say, just follow along! That's what I'm doing.

Wanda,
I am so sorry to read about the problems you have been having with your finger. You can save the clues and work on the patterns when it is all healed. For the meantime, I am glad you are enjoying looking at all the different colors of the motifs, and your encouragement is much appreciated!

Nothing like getting to the second to last motif of your afghan #1 & #2 and realize that you have 13 DC on the last leg of the octagon instead of 12 DC.....frogging out one DC on 11 motifs.....

As a newbie I am having trouble wrapping my brain around the ball/skein as it pertains to the amount of yarn needed for a project? Is the way the yarn sold in the stores a ball or a skein? With all the yarns sold in different lengts how do you know how much one ball is? I am hoping I purchased enough yarn for the CAL

Just finished my last clue on my second blanket. Going to start a 3rd but this will be done at my leisure vs trying to keep up with the other 2.
