Is the way the yarn sold in the stores a ball or a skein? With all the yarns sold in different lengts how do you know how much one ball is? I am hoping I purchased enough yarn for the CAL

I have a question ... how do I get a picture to show up on the right hand side with my name and stuff? I tried last night, but no luck.

I used the Color Palette thingy, but seeing them all side by side one color has me worried. This is where I also have a difficult time. I am not good at color coordination. That is why I relied on the Color Palette. I am going to stay positive that when they are all put together that it will create a great blend of colors.

Which colors did you choose?

Went with Birch White as the MC. Other colors are Aqua Frost, Butter, Colonial Beige, and Turtle Green. When I received the yarn all the colors seemed to go together really well. Working up the Colonial Beige, it seems to have more of an olive green color to it. That seems to clash with the Aqua Frost. Tell me it will be beautiful when it is all put together :hrmm:

It should be beautiful, since they are all in the same color line "Simplicity".
Those designers know more than us about how colors work together.

Where will you be using the blanket? Do the colors look good together in that room?

You can add an "avatar" image by going to the User Control Panel, then clicking the "Profile" tab, then scrolling down the left side to click "Edit Avatar".

You can use an image from your computer files as an avatar.
Just make sure it fits within the maximum dimensions
Maximum dimensions: width: 90 pixels, height: 90 pixels, file size: 19.53 KiB

It similar to posting pictures in your posts. But, you link to your avatar in the User Control Panel area. It is under the Profile tab, then click on edit avatar. You then have two choices: upload from your computer or from a URL (like Flickr or Photobucket). The file must fit the guidelines posted on that page (Size: 90 pixels x 90 pixels, File size: less than 19.53 kb). My avatar was made by my SO with an icon creator program. I had to resize it with paint for this site.

Yippee for me :bravo: I finished my clue #3 Sunday afternoon, and they are all blocked and ready to go. Feeling such a sense of accomplishment this week! So now to follow so many of you with multiple projects I just started the mermaid tears bag. My daughter's birthday is in a month and this bag is right up her alley of style... she's quite the fashionist at the tender age of almost 7 turning 13

Having my husband type this because I was told not to do anything with my right hand. I had broken my ring finger a few months ago and found out I hand a non cancerous tumor on the same area that it broke. It healed but had to work on closing my hand so that the finger can get back to its normal way but that didn't happen apparently I hit my finger again :ire: and hurt it so bad :tears: that I can not do anything with it. I'm unable to do my beading or more the less crochet and I was look forward to this because it would have been the first time doing a crochet along. I have been reading the post and enjoying the pictures that I have seen so far and I want to let everyone that the colors are beatiful you guys are going to have a beautiful blanket.

Maybe next time I can join you guys in the next crochet along.

that seriously bites, wanda! a couple of christmases ago I way overdid the crocheting in an attempt to get two whole blankets done in time to ship out of state for gifts, (yes, I made it) but i strained my crocheting hand so badly I had to take 2 weeks off from crochet. i about went NUTS!!!! I can't imagine having to give everything like that up for a long time. How long are you required to rest your hand? do you know?

here are pics of the 2 blankets I made that christmas. I got both of them done in 3 weeks.

The chart was a big help with this clue! And it still took me a couple of tries to get the first motif done - somehow I kept ending up with 9 points instead of 8. Once I figured that out, the rest was much easier. I blame it on the fact that I was in a hospital waiting room while my daughter had surgery - but this is a trickier pattern than before. I love the challenge. Can't wait to see what you've cooked up for Clue 4!

Finished clue 3 with a couple of days to spare. Time to get to work on the KAL clues. I'm already so far behind that I doubt I'll ever be able to catch up.
