trouble with popcorn stich

Need some clarification on popcorn stitch, second row. Where do you go in for the stitch? In the library video it shows using the chain not the center of popcorn stitch. Is this what we do in the pattern? your help is greatly appreciated. :helpme: :hrmm:

ImageParty colored popcorn! Love them!

Brightens up the motif.

Used photobucket. It's free.

:helpme: This is my first time doing the popcorn stitch. I am in the second round of popcorns and the chain stitches keep hiding behind the popcorns. Is this normal? WIll they stretch out when I complete the round after the popcorns? Any advise will be very helpful. Thanks.

Are you concerned about not being able to find them for round 3? You certainly will be able to see the ch4, if you cannot find the ch1, just work 2 dc in between the popcorns on you made round 2 and the 3dc,ch3,3 dc in the ch 4. You will be working the 2 dc around the ch1 in the space between the popcorns , there will be something for you to work around.

according to what I did ... not sure if it was correct or not, I followed the diagram more than the written instructions. some of the popcorns will go over chain stitches but several you will go around/in the closing loop of a previous popcorn. .. Hope that helps

Yeah, I had trouble with this too. Trying to figure out where to put the stitch that goes in the prior row popcorn was hard and I'm still not sure I got it right. Going to go look at the spoilers thread and see if my square looks like what's there. If so, I'm gonna say, close enough. :helpme:

I went and watched the video when you posted this just to make sure I was doing it right. The lady in the video is working into the CH1 space because that's what her pattern tells her to do. Ours says to work 2 dc in the ch1 space and 1 dc in the top of the popcorn. So, I've been using the centre of the popcorn stitch. Hope that helps? I could be doing it wrong too... :idonno:
