I've been dealing with family issues, so still have 2 squares to finish from clue 3 - argh - was not taking the yarn along to my Aunt's smoke-filled house - ick!

So, if my modem cooperates until the new one gets here on Friday, then I'll be able to print out clue 4 and get started with my Butter color. until then, one more Mauve Glow and one more Sun Drift clue 3.

Ok Ok OK!!! I admit it! I wan't done with clue 3! I found out some pretty stressful news about my pregnancy and pretty much put all of life on hold, including crochetting. I only had one octogan left to make so I was busting it out this morning. When I got to the last stitch of the 6th round I finally realized that I was using the wrong sized hook! So now I have to go ALL THE WAY TO THE BEGINNING AND START OVER!!!! Thankfully it is only one and I work them up in just a couple of min. I was just so excited to finally have a new clue to do and that I was in the mood to crochet again and now I am frustrated. Oh well...pressing on!

Also, just so everyone knows, Lideeya and I are both fine. I just found out that I have Placenta Previa. I have to have another ultrasound next week to determine the severity of it. Thankfully I am just 21 weeks so the placenta has plenty of time to "migrate" to a position that won't mean having to have a c-section. Any of you who pray, I would appreciate and even covet your prayers that this would be the case for me. Thanks!

Prayers are definitely coming your way and Lideeya's way. I've known many that have moved! Just take it easy and listen to your doctors!

Why don't you try doing a new motif to get that excitement back and then whip out the other clue :)

I feel like such an idiot. I just can't get this clue, Round 1. I watched the video, but it's nothing like the instructions. I've frogged it at least a dozen times and still come up with a haphazard mess! Can anyone help me????

I agree! I thought I had it right, until I saw the video.

Which is it? Do we yarn over and pull through stitch 1 and 5 for the popcorn, or do we just pull through, like the video shows? They seem to have different looks... :idonno:

We certainly will pray for you! And, just so you don't feel bad about your last octagon, when I sat down last night to weave in all the ends of clue 3, I realized one of them had 9 sides. Er, duh!

You definitely want to yarn over before pulling through. The Bernat video mentions that some patterns call for the yarn over and some just want you to slip stitch, as she did in the video. Hope this helps.

After I complete the 4 dc, the loop is dropped, but the Ch 3 into which I insert my hook is to the left of the dropped loop, so I end up stitching backwards.

Quick question: This looked fairly simple in theory..I may be making it too hard, but after the first set of popcorns, will it be fairly bunched up? I crochet really loose, but after my first round things are pretty tight. Looked at some of the photos on the spoiler thread, but couldn't tell if the middle was bunched up or laying flat.
