My mom and I are doing this together as a healthy alternative to going out to lunch! But between her vacation travels and my work schedule, we are a little behind... So, going back to clue #2 and #3, my #3 came out a bit larger than #2. I read a lot of comments on clue #2 coming out smaller than the template, but the general consensus was that it was OK... that when we block and put them together, it should all come out OK. I kept the same hook (size H) and tension for all the motives, but now I'm having second thoughts about clue #2 coming out smaller. Can anyone help or give me advice?

Clue 5 in Colonial Beige. I think this week's clue looks like a spiderweb ;)

I rather like the idea of using a variegated yarn for the main color. Then using all of the colors and tones within that yarn as the solids. I didn't think about doing that for this CAL.....however I am doing something similar on a ripple blanket that I'm also making for my granddaughter. I'll post a picture of it on one of the other threads when I get it a bit further along.

My colors are Birch White, Aqua Frost, Greek Sea, Colonial Beige and Bark. They all blend so well and very soothing colors. I am quite pleased with this CAL afghan so far. Can't wait to see it finished!

Ooh, I like your color choices! Mine are a little similar...I am loving these green/blues!

That's true, and you could change colours each row too.

I agree. I do prayer shawls and lapghans for one of our local hospital's ministry and this pattern could easily be modified to work into a lapghan. I can't wait to get started on this clue; I've been travelling and will finally have time tonight to get started.

Nankaeia - these are going to look so lovely together; purple has always been my favorite color because it is so bright and cheerful! :bravo:

Nice job!! Sundrift is my MC as well, so now I know what my octagons are going to look like. :)

Don't you love this color? It is the only one I didn't change my mind 15 times about using. I picked it right off as my MC. If I knew my other half wouldn't have a total hissy, I would want this on my bedroom walls.

You have a friend. I too am using birch white for the main color. Colors Mauve Glow, Blue Gown, and Greek Sea for colors A, B and C and Butter for contrast. I wish I had a young daughter to give it to, but this one is for me. I can't remember the last time I made something for me except for my dish cloths.
