Crochet-Along Clue 6

Hope I have enough to complete the afghan now. Still waiting for my new skein of MC to get here in the mail. Will weigh my skeins and see how much I have left of each one. Will post again when I get that done.

I posted my left over yarn in ounces in the spoilers area. I just hope I have enough.

Did something wrong on the 5th motif. Having to frog the whole thing and do it all over again. I finished it and counted sides and only had 7 and 1/2 sides. How you get only 1/2 side I don't know but I did. argh!!

Ack! Sounds like something I would do.

Raining here today, too, but I had 3 appts that I had to get out to farms to keep. Rainy days are the best days to get in touch with the farmers I do audits for. Unfortunately, babysitter backed out, so the kids got to come with me and read their new fun magazines in the van while I walked around and did inventory. Maybe tonight.

I'm finished... Loved it, had fun, and hate to rush the time, but can't wait for 2013 CAL. I'm now just patiently awaiting the assembling. I wish Bernat had CALs every 3 months.

This has been the trickiest clue for me. I have had to frog a number of times--my clusters did not fall in the right places. Three finished--three to go.

I'm actually a bit flummoxed on how the cluster stitch is written. It's unnecessarily confusing. I would rewrite it as follows:

"(YO, insert hook into SIDE of the same sc just completed, YO, pull up a loop. There will be 3 loops on hook. YO, pull through 2 loops) twice. YO pull through both loops on hook."

The way it's written has a bit of a short cut in it that I think will seriously confuse beginners. If you are going to write out step by step instructions, one should not assume the "insert hook" part.

Actually, you should have 3 loops on your hook to pull through (not two) so the instructions as written "" Yoh and draw through all loops on hook" is correct.
