Re: Crochet-Along Clue 6 - Round 8

Hi all,

Don't know if anyone has posted on this--I just looked through and couldn't find anything. My Clue #6 was coming out "wavy" as were others from the pictures I saw in the spoiler thread. I just re-did round 8 using all dc's (no hdc's) and my motif turned out so much more octonagal (sp?). The eight sides are almost perfectly straight.

For any one wanting to try it, if you have fastened off already, I found that doing all dc's did not use any more yarn than mixing in the hdc's. :)

I have just finished my first two of clue six and wondered the same thing. I also wondered if there is going to be something interesting and unusual in the joining that I might want to leave those HD there. I think I am going to go ahead and do the HD and see what develops later--can always take out round eight later and do it all in DC.

Personally I am a fan of those half doubles in this design, they helped me keep track of where I was along the way around (3 - 2 - 2- 3 - 1 -ch- 1 repeat) and when stretched out, they can be flat and help pull the inside design out a bit more, emphasizing it. So I do not understand why so many are panicking and thinking it is wrong. It can easily be blocked to have a flat edge, think of the first clue, it needs to be blocked to turn from a circle with 4 funky points to a nice square.

I wish there were big CALs more than once a year too. Especially big mystery ones. I love the surprise they offer.

Me too! I'm already dreading this CAL being over. More CALs throughout the year! :knit: :knit: :knit:

We will be having smaller KALs and CALs here in the forum all year long!
Be sure to check in about once a month, to see if it's something you want to participate in.

Nice to hear! Maybe I shouldn't be so afraid to give it a try.
Some people have asked me to make a video, so I need to learn to make it.
