Got to the end of round 7 before I had 17 clusters rather than 16 and that I added the 17th cluster in round 3! Are you kidding me!?! I just had to pull out the entire thing all the way to round 3 so that I could fix it!   I don't usually have this much trouble with these clues, I'm sort of disappointed in myself right now! :ire: I think I am going to take a break and walk down to check the mail in the rain :rainy: Hopefully when I get back It will work out for me.

You're not the only one! I got to the end of the 7th rnd and couldn't figure out how come it wasn't ending right. Turned out, back on the third rnd, I forgot one repeat. ugh. I put it down for now. Hopefully when I pick it back up I will be brave enough to undo the rounds.

Don't be intimidated! Double crochet is 1 yo, treble is 2 yo's and double treble, also known as a quadruple crochet, is 3 yo's.

As for crocheting into the side of the single crochet, it is supposed to read "inside the single crochet." Think of it as backwards crocheting. Make your single crochet and then that SC becomes the base of your cluster.

I'm actually a bit flummoxed on how the cluster stitch is written. :hrmm: It's unnecessarily confusing. I would rewrite it as follows:

"(YO, insert hook into SIDE of the same sc just completed, YO, pull up a loop. There will be 3 loops on hook. YO, pull through 2 loops) twice. YO pull through both loops on hook."

The way it's written has a bit of a short cut in it that I think will seriously confuse beginners. If you are going to write out step by step instructions, one should not assume the "insert hook" part.

for what it's worth.

different project, but similar problem....i'm on the last repeat round of a star-shaped blanket I'm working on before the border starts...and I suddenly discovered it was uneven...I have 5 stitches at the tip of 2 points, but 3 stitches at the tip of the other 3 points...and they weren't contiguous! it took me an hour to figure it out...I'd accidentally REVERSED directions in my crocheting part way through that round. I'm working with a Boucle, which makes seeing the directions of your stitches all but impossible.

THEN half a round later I ran out of yarn.

so, i feel your pain. lol.

So I finally figured it all out and finished the first motif. :crown: Then I measured it and it was PERFECT in size! I used my K hook the first time out assuming that it would be a bit big becuase of the lacieness of the pattern...but it was perfect! I now have 1 more MC to make and then the 4 Color B. What is sad to me is that I will have and entire skein of the MC left when I am finished with this clue! This means I will have used only HALF the yarn that was originally called for! I'll still have 1 MC, 1 each A, C and D. I'll let you know how much I have left of B when I finish this clue. I guess I will have plenty of yarn for sewing together and the boarder! Still kind of irritating that I didn't actually need so much yarn. Off to church I go...will have to come back to this later!

Well I am done with my first motif...reading the directions was a little confusing on round 4 but I read it again and again and went 1 step at a time and it worked out without any major trouble. I feel good after reading how others have been very frustrated with it...for those still having trouble do 1 step at a time, it does work out and looks so pretty! Goo :inlove: d Luck!
