One more.
Laina,
I like all your ideas. You are right, they are similar to mine. I like the idea of something more symetrical than the diagonal possibilities.
You have two different blues, don't you? For a minute there, I panicked.

I thought, I don't have eight of one color and four of another (besides the main color). Then I realized you must have two shades of blue. Some of your layouts look a lot different when you consider four very different colors.
Hi dsegel,
Just curious, but are you a Donna or a Diane maybe?
Yes, I have two shades of blue. Actually when I bought my yarn, the CAL had already begun. I really didn't know how to choose the colors. With what I had read and saw, I thought we had to choose from color categories.
So I chose from Town and Country. I didn't know we could choose from any of the yarn until later. I was in a hurry so I could get started and not get behind. Having never done a CAL before, I didn't know what to expect.

Now that I'm doing the CAL, I see that I was overly concerned about hurrying. Hee hee!
So in saying all of that, if I were to do another, I will take my time to choose color. Some have a natural gift for choosing color. I have to go at it a little slower than others.
I think too, it helps to see yarn color in person. For instance, the cadet blue is lighter than I thought and the same goes for the antique. It's much lighter than it looks online. So when it comes to choosing yarn for a project such as this, I think I would find a comparable yarn locally because of all the colors.
Then I could hold them up to each other and see if it will work. I can also take the yarn back if I buy it locally if I don't think the colors are right or if they don't match what I want it to go with.
So this has been a great and wonderful experience and I'm learning so much and I'm so grateful to be able to participate in this CAL. It's fun and there are so many wonderful people here. I've done some new stitches, techniques, learned some great tips. It's just been a fantastic experience!
What colors have you chosen?
Laina
