Oh, we have the same colours but I like your proportions way better! I really wish that I had used Greek Sea as my MC, especially now that I've see yours.

I really enjoyed this process! Next time I think we should make multi colored motiffs!

The 2010 CAL has many multi coloured motifs. I personally love that we didn't change colours as we went on this years. I am working on the 2010 one now and the colour changes are a nightmare.
I absolutely love the way yours turned out, the colours are great, it's as if you knew what the final design would look like, they work so well in the design.

Didn't care much for the suggested colors or the layout for finishing, but love some of the alternate versions you've posted - the diagonal design by kathieh is much more interesting & also like the idea of making it all in one color. Now I just have to find the time to block & assemble all these pieces. =)

I agree, I never would have picked this one to work on had I known what it would end up as. Saying that, I feel I have learned many new stitches and am nearly over my fear of seaming!
The overall design is growing on me and I really feel unless it is kept on the back of a chesterfield or a bed that no one will ever really see the full design at once. If it is folded you won't see it all, if it is on you I imagine it being tucked in and crinkled that again you won't see everything at one time.
I would also like to point out they never ever gave us colour suggestions for this, the tutorial was pointing out how you might like to pick colours. But there were never any official suggestions in there.

WEll it took some time but I figured out my final layout. I am a symetrical person and so I went as symetrical as I could to make it look good. I am going to have to make some more of clue 1 to make it look like I want but I am happy with what I came up with.

I like it Super Sue! I actually came up with the same layout for my blanket, without the side panels to make it into a bed scarf:) I have changed it again now, but it is similar.

I like very much ! My first thougth was "oh, after the flowers, here are the butterflies !"

I'm still moving my colours, but it is coming .... not so easy .... :hrmm: but quite good ...
The afghan is for one of my daughters. Her husband is a very classical person, and my first random distribution was scaring  (for him, not for me !) He is very well-mannered, but his face was rather expressive :? ....
Well, they live together, so I tried to guess HIS taste ! (I don't want this plaid to become a cause of recrimination : "this awful thing YOUR mother put in OUR bedroom !" ) :scared:

Thanks Karen. I wasn't sure whether or not to go with my own design. In the end, I chose the original because I wanted to see this through to the end with Bernat's design. Who knows, if I'd gone with something else, the border might look weird and I'd end up having to rethink that too!

Yes, they did. There were suggested colors from each "family" on one of the original PDF links from the color tutorial. That's how I picked mine. :)
