Crochet-Along Clue 7 (Week 8): Spoilers and Photos

:hellogoodbye: I'm finally finished my weaving, and ready for the border. Took me awhile, my youngest grandson was out of school for the Easter Holidays. He's 7 and this afghan is for him. I had to change the flowers, so it wouldn't look to girlie. He loves it and can't wait for it to be finished so he can take it home. He picked out the colors and I think he did a good job.

I am so amazed! I pieced my afghan together in about four hours! I made a slight change to the layout an placed my Color D around the border. I really like it now. Here is how it turned out. Now on to my daughters that I made with stash yarn that she picked out! Pics to follow later.

I did the exact same thing with mine! I liked the way the contrast showed up better by putting it around the edge rather than in the middle! I personally think it brings a little more life to the afgan too! Great minds think a like I guess!

Let me start by saying I really, REALLY love doing this CAL! And I have done each motif as close as possible to the original directions. However, the final layout just does not do it for me. I am way to "symmetrical" a person to be comfortable with it.
So after playing around with my motifs, I think I am settled on this one. I'll figure out what to do with the other 2 at a later time!

I LOVE this layout for my 2nd blanket...as it is for my grandson ( 6 years old) and has less of that flowery look. Thanks so much for sharing!!

I'm really liking mine, although I switched it up a bit from the original layout. There are still two of the larger motifs, instead of three. And I'm really glad I stuck with a solid color - I didn't have a plan for this originally, but I've now decided it will probably be a wedding gift...

This has been fun, and I'm considering making another!

Had I known the layout to begin with I probably would have made the smaller flowers match the clue 1 color in the middle of the bigger flowers, but I still like how it turned out

just love how you mixed it up. this is sort of what I was expecting when doing multiple colours. I also love your colour choices - are they the eagerly colours?
