Hi, Thanks to all for sharing. It's been a real pleasure reading the posts and seeing all the beautiful afghans. I don't know how you guys and gals find the time for all the posting (with all the crocheting going on!) but I am oh-so-glad you do! So maybe I'll share a bit too.....

Loved reading your story about you and your daughter making the blankets, your design for your beautiful finished layout, and your boyfriend's pride in your work.

My Afghan picture was quite blurry so I decided to post a few others. These pics really don't do the afghan justice. It really is beautiful.

Thanks, Azim. The doggy is super--shelter rescue "Muttagree"--great companion and helper. This has been lots of fun and will certainly do the next one!!!

Congrats on Muttagree rescue doggy luv. My Logan Ragdoll kitty is a rescue as well. Lota luv there too. And he blesses me with "angora" type fur on most everything including the Mystery Tour afghan! Logan and I are eagerly awaiting another Mystery Challange. Daughter still creating her first one. I did start some knitting though. Okay, well, knitting and unknitting is more accurate but I tell myself it's the journey! LOL! Azim

This is how I did my border:

First 2 rows: sc around

Next row, (3 petal flower, color A): slip st first 4 st working back loop, in next st, (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1 sl st.(flower made)
*slip stitch next 9 sts working back loop, in next st. (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc,, 3ch 1tr, 3ch, 1sl st* repeat* * around ending with 5 sl st working back loop. break color A

Next row (cluster color B): 1sl st in first sl st of last row, 4 ch, 1sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 2nd petal, 4 ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal, 4ch, skip next 4 sl st, *in next sl st,1sc, 2 ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st, 4 ch, 1 sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2tr tog, 1sl st on top of second petal, 4 ch, 2 trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal 4 ch, skip next 4 sl st.* Repeat* * around ending with 1sc, 2ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st in first sl st of beg of row. break off!

It was my pleasure, but to get the record straight, it is not my design at least not all of it, I was inspired by a border I found in an old book!! and I am glad to share it, I think it fits so well with that kind of project

you said it right! Very nice flower garden, I did not see It that way until you mentioned it

It's funny, all I could think of when we were doing the motifs is a flower garden, so I'm glad it came out as one. Thanks again for the help!

Here is my finished afghan! After I took the picture and picked the afghan back up, I realized that I didn't have it laying completely straight, so please excuse the wrinkles!

Many thanks to tjwjlove, whose layout I "borrowed". I used Border #8 from Edie Eckman's Around the Corner Crochet Borders, which I had just recently purchased. The base single crochet round is Gypsy Gold, and the border round is my main color, Tibetan Red. I really love the red and gold together.
