If you haven't already noticed, I created a separate post, which has all the photos of completed CAL blankets. No comments can be made to that thread. This makes it easy to see all the blankets.

I completely agree Laina! Looking at the blankets in the post Shandeh made makes it so much easier to see the beautiful work everyone has done (and the difficult time I will have in deciding where to place my vote).
Shandeh has been wonderful in this forum and I'd love to nominate her. I don't think we can though, can we?

Shandeh, I'm amazed at how you take time to comment on every blanket and all the posts. How do you have time left to do anything beyond this forum? Thank you for your helpfulness and your friendly, encouraging comments. You are a blessing!

Crochetfanatic, Your afghan is beautiful!!! I love your layout and the border is perfect with it! Our colors are similar enough to be sisters...very peaceful yet cozy...kindred I didn't change Clue 6, but the ones with color changes did seem fuller to me as well. Optical illusion??? Lynn

this my finished blanket.. I used Caron simply soft yarn.. it wasn't to bad to work with..i did find some yarn flaws in the yarn.. but i did like the feel of the yarn, a lot better then the RED heart that i used last year, it was scratchy. I am a newbie to crocheting... it has been a lot of fun doing this online... Thank you to everyone that gives tips and ideas, they are very helpful..

Oh, I'm so glad you appreciate my work!
When I was making the pages for the KAL and CAL finished photos, it reminded me of my earlier days as an executive assistant. Lots of typing and organizing. It was nice to get it finished, and I enjoy looking through all the blankets myself.

I cannot be nominated as most helpful, because I work for Bernat. But, I certainly appreciate your kind words! Makes me feel loved and appreciated. As for the time I spend on the forum, I am sort of a work-aholic, I guess. I just like to be busy. When I'm not on the forum, I teach piano lessons, practice piano and organ for church, go to choir rehearsal, perform for church services and weddings and funerals, and I occasionally compose my own music. I also spend a lot of time knitting and crocheting, and reading books. And I also love to shop at thrift stores, consignment shops, antique stores, craft stores, and yarn shops. I'm a very busy person, but I like it that way.

Finally got my second one done and I love it! I used ambivalent's design (thank you!!!). The picture doesn't do justice to my yarn colors. For the border I just did a row of single and a row of double crochet in the Navy, Chocolate and Spearmint.

I think it's awesome that you finished both blankets so quickly!

As with many others, I've been crocheting and lurking in the shadows, reading all of y'all and praying I'd stay focused enough to finish this project for myself. I've always started blankets, scarfs, hats, etc. etc., and given every one of them away. But I'm great with a deadline, and finally have my completed afghan to share...Thanks for all the stories, tips and encouragement along the way. This has been challenging! Always for you.....Lynn

Well I made it!!! Finally finished last night. The only different from the original pattern is the border. Instead of just one round of sc I did a round with each of the five colors. I didn't know if I was going to like it very much but I think it turned out pretty good!

This has been a wonderful project for me to participate in, although I was not very vocal this year. We all have wonderful stories to share, and mine will remain in my heart for now. Thank you, Bernat, for sponsoring this event, and for the yummy soft Waverly yarn! Thank you to the moderators, participants who have been so helpful to anyone frustrated with this, and to all of the wonderfully talented ciber acquaintances. My main frustration was putting the final layout together! I have photos of many possibilities, including using an alternate color for the center motif, but the final looks great in our home in the mountains, believe it or not! And you all thought mountain homes were full of "animal" colors! HaHa! Anyway, I posted the final on Flikr with a detail of the edging, and here it is! That is, if it will load properly! If not, it is on Flikr, svmatt.

I love your blanket! The colors go so well together, and the arrangement really makes them shine!

Very nice! I love the contrast of the dark colors against your flower motifs!
