Crochet Along: Finished Blanket Photos

Does anyone else get the feeling that Bernat suggested a single crochet border on purpose? Just to see what creative ideas everyone could come up with on their own. Most of the borders that I've seen are very distinctive and really do play up the overall theme of the blankets! Thanks Bernat for bringing out the creativity in everyone!

Hadn't thought of that possibility....but it is very possible that was their thoughts. Food for thought....

This was quite fun but not what I expected. I was disappointed when I saw the final layout but having moved clue 4 to the outside edges and put it all together it does actually look really nice. Putting the various colours in the border has made it all tie in nicely!!!!! Can't wait until there's another CAL, had so much fun and loved seeing everyone else's really helped. There's so many amazing afghans, and really loving all the colours!!!!

Not colors I would have chosen, but were dictated by what was available in a giant bag of free yarn. The variegated yarn looked horrible in the original pattern, so I stole a little here and tweaked a little there to come up with the finished afghan. This was my first CAL, but certainly won't be my last.

Fun! I love how creative you were with the layout, using the variegated motifs.

Finished my blanket last week, and I'm finally getting around to posting it.

First, to Bernat, THANK YOU so much for this great crochet-along! I had so much fun doing it, and I learned so much along the way! I look forward to doing another one soon.

I didn't care for the layout or the border given, so I made up my own. I used Waverly Sundrift for my MC, and Loops & Threads Impeccable in Fern, Forest, Deep Forest, and Amethyst for A, B, C, and D.

Anxiously awaiting the next one! I love seeing everyone's finished projects!

I don't know if the designers intended it or not, but I'm very happy to see all the creative designs by everyone!

I LOVE all of the finished afghan photos and how not one looks like anyone elses!! What a creative group we have!! I am almost half way finished sewing it together. I will post when finished!! I still need to finish the KAL as well! Good work everyone!!

My dad loved my afghan and seeing that it didn't go with my plaid couch, I gave it to him today. It matched his couch that used to be my grandmother's couch. My couch is now bare. I will have to put one of my quilts on it so the cat hair doesn't accumulate along the top where she likes to sleep. Would do another afghan but there is no teal green color available.

Finally finished up my daughters afghan. She picked out the colors and is still deciding if she wants me to add to the border. Sorry for the dark picture.

I still need to put my second one together.

I ADD AN EXTRA BORDER AROUND MY BLANKET TO MAKE IT MORE SPECIAL.
