Crochet Along: Finished Blanket Photos

Yarn - TLC - Black Bernat - softee Chunky -Terra Cotta Vanna's Choice - Brick - Olive -Honey - This is the second afghan I did. I just really liked the color combination and thought I might try to do two this year. I am happy with both of them. I stuck to the original design and border. I tried different borders, but kept coming back to the original. I want to THANK BERNAT, for all the fun and the learning experience. I loved learning all the new stitches, and sharing it all with everyone. Being able to share all of it and get help from everyone along the way was a big part of the experience. I am one who used the photo's of others blocks to see what I was doing right or wrong. This is my second year doing the crochet-a-long, and I hope to do this again. THANK YOU BERNAT! This is how I did my border:

First 2 rows: sc around

Next row, (3 petal flower, color A): slip st first 4 st working back loop, in next st, (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1 sl st.(flower made)
*slip stitch next 9 sts working back loop, in next st. (1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc, 3ch, 1tr, 3ch, 1sc,, 3ch 1tr, 3ch, 1sl st* repeat* * around ending with 5 sl st working back loop. break color A

Next row (cluster color B): 1sl st in first sl st of last row, 4 ch, 1sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 2nd petal, 4 ch, 2trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal, 4ch, skip next 4 sl st, *in next sl st,1sc, 2 ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st, 4 ch, 1 sl st on top of first petal, 4ch, 2tr tog, 1sl st on top of second petal, 4 ch, 2 trtog, 1 sl st on top of 3rd petal 4 ch, skip next 4 sl st.* Repeat* * around ending with 1sc, 2ch, 1dc, 3ch, 1 sl st in first sl st of beg of row. break off!

I've been having trouble with picresize so I had to resort to another site and I'm not sure how reliable it is. I apologize in advance if it is too big. I sampled it and my photo looks really blurry. Kelly

Kelly, if you use Flickr for your photos, you don't need to resize them. Flickr has already resized them for you. Just pull up your photo page, click the "Share" button, and then select the size you want to share.

Your first picture is a bit blurry; but still clear enough for us to see your layout. This looks really nice; I also like the border that you added. How did you do the last row?

I did a single crochet round once with each color than I used one of my stash yarns with a darker shade of purple and I did 7sc, 5dc shell, skip 5, 7sc and repeated that configuration until finished with a slip stitch into the corner. I think the border was needed. One row of sc around just wasn't enough for me.

Thank you Shandeh for the repsonse about the long threads toseam with. I am not looking forward to this part. Have never done it. So, these threads will hold the motifs together, right?
