Crochet Along: Finished Blanket Photos

Okay here is my finished mystery afghan. It was a rough one for me, but here is what I learned along this journey with you guys:
1. Patience to know I can "get" what pattern is written even when my brain says "you're not gettin' it."
2. Trust in the folks in this forum to help me when I got stuck. Some wonderful helpers, thank you!
3. Courage to ASK (search) for help when I was stuck.
4. Perseverence to keep going when I wanted to throw certain motiffs against the wall!
5. Patience and keeping my eye on the prize - the finished project - when my confidence was at a real low.
6. That is was FUN checking in the forum and reading what you were doing and seeing your photos. I would have posted more, but just figured it out.
7. 6 brand new motiffs and about eight new stitches I can now add to my crochet library!!
Can the next one be a little easier?

Here's my finished project with the official edging. I'm considering a couple of different options for the edge, though; I think I'll try adding some color. Hey, if I don't like it at least I can frog it back to this point, right?

Gallery .. Continued............ It folds so nicely! Hee Hee! I know got carried away with the photo posting but I finally figured it out and I am proud of the results. There are several that I keep going back to look at and I am looking forward to seeing even more beautiful afghans as they come in! Such talent! Thanks again to all. Azim

I just wanted to let you know that I just love your layout and the colours you put together! It makes me want to make another one of these and use your layout! Good job and I do hope you post a picture of your daughters afghan too!!

Yarn - TLC black - Bernat Satin Aqua - Bernat Satin Lavender - Red Heart Boutique - Mosaic - Sensations Rainbow - green - I stayed with the original designs on both afghans. They turned out like stained glass. Art deco. I am very happy with the results.

Beautiful colors! Very much like a stained glass window. Love it!

My Afghan picture was quite blurry so I decided to post a few others. These pics really don't do the afghan justice. It really is beautiful.

Thank you Shandeh for the repsonse about the long threads toseam with. I am not looking forward to this part. Have never done it. So, these threads will hold the motifs together, right?

Yes, you need to use those threads with a yarn needle to seam the motifs together.

.......I haven't finished my blanket yet; I still have two more clues to complete before I can start seaming it together. It doesn't help that I've frogged several octagons because I either run out of yarn with only five stitches left to the pattern, or it just doesn't come out to the right size and I have to do it again with a larger hook. Also, when the final layout was posted, I swapped my color choices around. Hopefully I will have enough done to start seaming this weekend.
