I really want to do this. My question is, will we be notified by email as a reminder or will we need to come to the forum to get the clues.
I am having an awful time choosing colors. I am not a beginner but I don't have a lot of experience either.
I am hoping to learn something new.

Greek Sea
Princess
Blue Gown
Butter
Birch White

I have never ordered yarn before. I have always been afraid to due to the fact that the colors are not what they appear in the pictures.
My main concern is the Butter, I was wondering if anyone has it already and is it the color of butter (soft yellow) or does it have a brown tone to it?

I found my way this far but how do I sign up for the CAL? I've always wanted to do one and the time was never right - before now!

No need to "sign up". Just get your yarn and wait until February 15, when the first clue will be posted in "One Stop Reference", then pick up your hook and get started. The group here will be doing the same. That is the fun part, taking breaks to chat about our progress or support each other.

I have the Butter, and I love it. It is more of a soft yellow, not necessarily a brown tone. It tends more towards a tan than a brown.

Hmmm that is what I was afraid of. I really was looking for a soft yellow.

Now I have another question. If I wanted to use another yarn or say brand of yarn what do I need to look for as a substitue so I don't make a huge mistake like I did with a hat I made for my son.

I don't really understand how to do that when a yarn is no longer available. I live in a very rural area and have to make the most of my time when out shopping.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thank you

You will need to come here to the forum once a week to get the latest clue. It will be shown on the One Stop Reference Page for the CAL.

You'll get lots of guidance by reading the Color Tutorial

Just scroll down that page, to get professional advice from the Waverly Fabrics interior designers.

I like the colors you've chosen so far!

The butter is definitely a soft yellow. A honey-gold color.

I am using it in my combination, for a pastel blanket, and it looks very nice with the other colors.

If you are substituting a different yarn, just make sure it crochets to the same gauge as Waverly yarn.

No sign up is necessary. Just make your decision to join in, choose and purchase your yarn, make a gauge swatch, and follow the clues when they are released!
