I bought some Pipsqueak a few months ago to make baby hats, and I thought I was going to tear my hair out in frustration (or as my 3 y.o. niece would say, "frushiation"). I ended up using a pattern that, as hanneke pointed out, had me crochet into spaces instead of stitches. Way easier to deal with!

Would you mind posting a link to that pattern? I have some leftover Pipsqueak from the blanket and would love to make some hats! Yours look great!

Thanks! It's the Bernat Pipsqueak baby hat pattern: http://www.bernat.com/pattern.php?PID=5385
I made these hats and several more to donate to the NICU in Regina. Last fall, they took care of my best friend and her baby when she was born 8 weeks premature. Baby is doing fine now, and I hope all the hats will find happy heads in time.

Thank you! I look forward to trying this one out! :) I am glad to hear that your friend's baby is doing well. I think donating to the NICU is a fantastic idea!

I tried to use this yarn to make a hooded baby blanket for a coworker and finally gave up and used something else. I was able to feel for the stitches like others have suggested but the edges were all over the map! I may try to go back and put a border around the edges with stitches of differing heights to straighten them. We shall see.
