Substitution for yarn-Bernat Super Value for Waverly?

Well I don't know how this happened, but a few extra Waverly colours ended up in bag after purchasing my yarn for the Crochet-Along.

Anyway since they're here, I'm wondering if they would be ok to substitute for the Bernat Super Value yarn when making this pattern?

...OK in my defense, I don't know how I was supposed to resist. The Michaels I went to had their Waverly selection on clearance for $2.49 a skein! They didn't have all my chosen colours for my afghan, and my local Michaels wasn't clearing theirs at all, and doesn't carry the Birch White. I ended up ordering it through the Bernat Website.

Any thoughts?

OMG my Michael's [Stoney Creek] had the same thing! So I bought a whole new set of colours! But the other Michael's on the other end of town [Ancaster] had their clearance price $3.99. I didn't get one colour I had really wanted so my hubby went a hunting and found it in the next town over [Burlington], though he did look at the St. Catherine's store, but they didn't even carry the Waverly yarn at all. At this price I am soooo tempted to go buy even more yarn. Wonder why it is on clearance when it is so new and awesome!?

As for substituting this yarn for the other, I don't see why not. They are both the same weight.

It should work well for that pattern!
Just be sure to check your gauge, so your bag is the size you want.

Wonder why it is on clearance when it is so new and awesome!?

No idea. I never know why stores put brand new yarns on clearance.

When I when to Micheals to get muy yarn (ended up getting only one of the colours I wanted) I asked why it was on clearence and was told that the yarn is considered a seasonal item and the store manager wasn't sure why?

OMG I love that bag, planing on making 1 after I finish 2 pinafores, I baby blanket and 2 afgans. I love the Weaverly colors great idea. Hope you post a picture of the finish p
