LOVE the slippers... I made my Mom about 12 pair (including ones much like yours) from my scrap stash. I added pompoms to the ones like these. I wish I had thought of flowers instead!!

Hi dixiemiss! Thank you for your nice words about my flowers! I used to make them plain--no pompoms because they use so much yarn. . .then I made a knit hat and chose to add the optional flower, the pattern was in the same book as the hat. It looked complicated, but when I got doing it, it was fun and easy. Then it occurred to me, "Hey I can put these on slippers!" Wish I had thought of that at Christmastime, when I made pairs for my niece and great-niece.
I agree with you, slippers are a good way of using up "orphan" balls of yarn.

Love, love love the flowers!!! I make slippers all the time with my yarn leftovers (to keep my hands busy and out of the cookie jar). I usually donate them to Hospice when I get a big pile. Not many of my relatives wear slippers here in Florida.

Hi Mcarles! Thank you for your nice post! :D Glad you like the flowers! I have actually found books and more patterns for knitted flowers! Who knew? I always associated crocheting with flowers!
I am sure your slippers are a blessing to hospice patients  Isn't knitting a great way to bless people? It is one of the many, many things I love about knitting. :inlove:

Oh, and by the way, cotton yarn makes up into really nice slippers. . .nice for summer/warm climates :) !
