Origami crochet/knit patterns

I love to make origami things, though stopped because I had zillions of little paper things everywhere. There is a lot to be said about origami. For one thing it teaches you patience! Also, to read a step and read the step after that to see how you get there. I find that helpful in figuring out crochet patterns. Also lots about math. Anyway I found and made a pair of "origami" Turkish socks, (Lots of seaming I didn't like for socks) and I did have potholder pattern that had so many stitches bunched in loop that it naturally turned and made pretty pinwheel/flower pattern. Then I guess there are mobius cowl/scarf designs I have never tried. I have made myself a neck warmer that I really need using short row crochet technique and that has a natural flow/curl to it to make it functional and interesting.
Anyone else have a favorite pattern that is interesting where the stitches/pattern lend themselves to the overall fit or function of the pattern versus seaming and sewing different flat pattern pieces together?

my absolute favorite seemless pattern - zen jacket, designed by this brilliant woman named Doris Chan. I found her on Ravelry, but she's been published in several places, and recently started her won website with her designs. I made one for my sister in law for her birthday this past january, and I fully intend to make one for myself one of these days. It's just so beautiful the way the pattern creates a 3-dimensional, very elegant jacket, without ANY seams! I'm astonished by this woman's talent. I can design, I can even design in-the-round...but lord I can't do what SHE does! :notworthy:

here's a link to this particular pattern:

That is a lovely pattern, the fan stitches, and the design itself. This looks like it would be a good challenge sort of project for me, thank you so much for posting it.

With my new knitting skills ! :D I am making these. Unfortunately, this pattern gives no sizes that I can tell. Also, if you read pattern, the photo and the pattern are not the same so I am clueless how this will fit together. I used bright, bright pink for the first piece which is probably bad choice since I think they are going to be huge. This will be my mystery KAL. Anyway, I have learned to increase , make left and right decreases and fixed dropped stitch.
Hope to finish the back of the first one tomorrow and see what it looks like!
