need help for baseball baby blanket

Hi, for this blanket de 2nd row begin with a k1b, and maybe I dont go in the right stich because it's make very big hole on the edge, it's all messy...hope you can help.

K1below should not leave a big hole, but it will be a little loopy. Instead of going into the st that you would normally knit into, go into the st below it, the one that you knit in the first row.

K1below = Knit next stitch 1 row below, at same time slipping off stitch above.

Strip I (make 3).
With pair of needles and A, cast on 31 sts.
**1st row: (RS). Knit.
2nd row: K1below. *P1. K1below. Rep from * to end of row.
Rep last 2 rows of Shaker Rib Pat for 6 ins [15 cm], ending with a WS row. Break A.
With B, work 6 ins [15 cm] in stocking st, ending with a purl row. Break B.**
Rep from ** to ** twice more. With B, cast off.
