Number of crochet stitches

Postby dogfoster » Fri Mar 09, 2012 10:43 am

Guess I could look at some patterns and figure it out, but just wondering, is there sort a rule of thumb for the number of stitches per side in the final row of crocheted motifs? For example, it looks like for 4 1/2 square it is about 12 or 13. Six inch square about 22? Anyone know about 8 or 12 inch square motifs? Thanks...

I don't know of a rule of thumb for the number of stitches, because everyone has their own gauge when crafting with yarn. Also, different yarn thicknesses would require different amounts of stitches.
