City Solarium Throw

Postby SherrySanchez » Mon Mar 19, 2012 1:06 pm

I am stuck on row 4 of this pattern. Found here: http://www.bernat.com/data/pattern/pdf/ ... m_content=
I am looking at the chart andthe directions and can't figure out what it is wanting me to do. I got the first part where youslip sticth, sc and 7 double, chain 2, 7double and sc in next sc. I don't understand the next part. (3dc, sl st in 5th dc of previous ect.) On the chart it shows a line between petals but not the actual 3dc and slip st it is referencing. Can someone look and tell me in very easy terms what I need to do? I googled a tutorial and couldn't find one....thank you :hrmm:

The chart looks like all the petals are 7 dc ch 2 7 dc with sc in sc between them. Am I looking at this wrong? But it does show some kind of blue line on the chart between the 5th dc of the previous petal and the 3rd dc on the next petal. I turned the petal and crochet 3 dc and a sl st in the 5th dc of the previous petal but it doesn't look right or anything like the chart. Thanks :hrmm:

Looks like you complete one whole petal as it is written.
Begin around on the second petal, on the right hand side of that, at the beginning after you have done the first 3 dcs, slip stitch into corresponding stitch of the first petal's left side. Then continue along around the second petal as written, putting the rest of the dcs in the ch 11 loop.
Third petal, after those first three dcs on the right hand side of it, slip stitch into corresponding stitch on the second petal on the second petal's left hand side.Etc...around. All of the petals dcs are going into that ch 11 loop.
You might want to make those slip stitches sort of loose because it looks like the next row you are going to have to cram a total of 6 dcs around that one slip stitch.
That is how it looks to me but I have not made it.

you are so right! That is exactly how you do it. Thank you so much. I wish they would word things a little better. It's usually one part you can't figure out. Thank you again :)

Glad that helped. And glad they had a chart or else I don't think I could've figured it out either. Pretty pattern, I didn't get the e-mail with the pattern but have enough things I am working on. Can't wait to see some photos to see how it is coming along.
