Help with the Top down cardigan

Postby poohbear » Tue Apr 17, 2012 5:18 pm

Hi I am Katherine I am currently working on a top down cardigan located in the bernat Mosaic booklet and I am just wondering how to do the button band because I am not quite sure how to knit and sew at the same time. Also I was wondering if anyone else has knitted this project and how to sew the sleeves on at the end. Also is there any corrections in the pattern that I am not aware of.
Thanks Katherine :knit:

I don't have that booklet but I just finished a top down cardi that looks similar to that one and for mine the button band and sleeves were added on after the body was finished but there was no sewing involved. My neck down pattern included the top parts of the raglan sleeves and the rest of the sleeve was knit in the round from the armpits down. The button band was picked up from stitches off the body and then knit as per instructions.

I'm thinking that your's will be similar. I was surprised at how easy it all was. I hope you have similar luck.

And here's a link to the pattern book: Bernat Sweaters & Accessories

You'll get your quickest assistance by contacting Bernat Customer Support at inquire@bernat.com.
They have the pattern book, and can discuss the pattern with the designer.

I don't see any pattern corrections on the Bernat website.
By the way, you can always look for corrections for Bernat patterns at this link: Bernat Erratum List

Good luck with your cardigan!
