I have heard of scuppernongs. . .I think from Gone With the Wind. . .I think it's mentioned about Scuppernong wine, after Yankees had invaded Tara. . .? (Don't you just LOVE GWTW??????) *swoon*

My sister loves scuppernong or muscadine wine, but it's too sweet for me. I prefer rose, chablis, or white zinfandel.

I was amazed recently to find that Gone with the Wind was streaming on Netflix!

I love the book, I should re-read it. . .the sequel "Scarlett" was good, but not the same kind of good as the original. . .my husband doesn't get GWTW or The Sound of Music. Must be a drag to be a guy. . . ;)

I don't care for sweet wine either. . .when I see wines labeled Sweet Red on store shelves, I wince! :stop:
I prefer big scary reds (Cabs and old vine Zins) --when I can get my greedy little hands on a good one (husband buys good ones for me for special occasions--wine and Jo-Ann gift cards! :D ) -- I also like meritage; I'm a little on the fussy side when it comes to whites. They have to be Chards with a LOT of personality! A good Pink wine to try is Pink Truck (not sweet/bubblegummy), or Barefoot White Zinfandel (lots of hints of strawberry!) :P
I also love Sake. . .good chilled on a hot summer day!

Omigosh! Omigosh!
Look at this photo I captured this past week. :D

Robin on Mailbox 2 by Shandeh, on Flickr

I was leaving one of my piano students' homes, and I noticed the robin sitting on the mailbox post, so prettily. I remembered that I had my camera with me, so I slowly reached in my purse and pulled it out. Amazingly, the bird didn't fly away. I quickly took a shot, then another. Then, I stepped a little closer, pushed the "focus" button on the camera, and got this beauty. I wanted to take a few more, but it flew away.

It was such an awesome moment! I felt like I was in storybook land or something....so dreamy...like I was floating. I can't believe the robin didn't fly away. :)

I know what you mean, Shandeh. I felt the same way late last winter when I captured this Cardinal in a snowy afternoon.

What a lovely time I've just had viewing the photos of birds in this topic. I'll have to see what I have to share with you all.

Thanks so much for the enjoyment you've brought me.

We were visiting friends on New Year's Day and while we were enjoying brunch, this little fellow had a good look as us! I like juncos.

"I see you in there!"
