Here's a video I made this morning, while rehearsing "O Holy Night", arranged by Bill Wolaver.
(yes....that's me....big 'ol mama piano player woman. Ha!)

OH, Sandy!! That was so beautiful!!! "O Holy NIght" is my all time favorite; it is also the first Christmas carol that I learned to play on the piano eons ago. Thanks so much for sharing this video with us.

Such a beautiful rendition of a beautiful Christmas carol!

My background "music" is usually whatever my hubby is watching on TV at the time. Almost always something on the history or military channels, or HBO or a movie on DVD from our pretty extensive library. I hae a few favorites, but tune most of it out. My preference.....silence.....no conversation, no movies, usually not even music. I'm probably one of the few who does not even turn on a radio or play CD's in the car.

It all depends on my mood and how much I have to concentrate on the pattern. I like already-seen movies and old time rock and roll.

This Christmas, my dad gave me an electric guitar!
I tried guitar (acoustic) when I was a kid, but haven't tried since.
Maybe since this one is a different breed, it will be more interesting.
(I do love listening to alternative and intelligent rock)

Shandeh, your dad is cool! I know you will have a great time with your new guitar! What kind is it, it has a Strat body, can't make out logo on headstock. (Mr. Mittenmaker is an accomplished guitarist on both acoustic and electric; played "Big Hair" in the 80's and 90's.)
Thanks for sharing your photo and story! You have got me thinking about picking up my bass again!
