From South Africa

I live in South Africa, but I am defnitely going to follow the mystery KAL 2012. Bernat wool is not available in our country, could someone please let met know what the combination of the waverly wool so that I could use yarn with similar combination. Looking forward to this exciting project

Thanks for joining our KAL!

Bernat Waverly yarn is a premium acrylic yarn. It is medium weight.

One thing to keep in mind.....you can actually use any yarn you want. If all the yarns are the same weight, they will work together to make a nice blanket.

Well I have not started on my CAL/KAL 2012 yet, because I just finished my own design of an adult top-down cardigan. If I may say this was a wonderful challenge and I will tell all knitters out there . . . "the bug got hold of me!!!" I will not easily knit from patterns any longer. Now that I have seen what die KAL "spoilers" look like, I decided to take my hands onto crochet. Personally I don't like the knitted squares, although I have tried doing origami knitting before I think this would have gone off much better. I am planning to do it in pastel colours and just have to decide on what wool and what colours. For some reason I like bone white, combinations of beige and then my strongest contrast would be a light teal. So girls in RSA watch this space

Yes girls I started 4 weeks late and I have just complete my CAL. Now I am waiting to see whether there are going to be any clues to put all together. Wht fun it was. I am thinking of actually adding more blocks and octagonals to make it larger. I also used much less wool than suggested. Great fun this was!!

Great job! Let us know how it works in a larger format.
