Please Help Identify Yarn & Cape Pattern

Postby AranGirl » Tue Oct 16, 2012 5:25 pm

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone recognizes a Bernat yarn I believe has been discontinued; purchased about 6 years ago at Wal-Mart; changes color along the skein (mine is primarily olive green with flecks of teal, inky blue/purple and an orange red); very soft and about mid-weight yarn; used to make a an easy Bernat pattern knit cape that includes a knit flower as a sewn on permanent closure; the cape is stocking stitch with edges and shoulders/top area in garter stitch. I've checked the "discontinued yarns" area of the Bernat website and did not see the yarn I used.

I was hoping to make another and seem to have misplaced the pattern and ball band though I have more of the yarn. If the yarn has been discontinued, I'd appreciate knowing the tension or suggested substitutes as well as where I can access the pattern.

Many thanks,
AranGirl

Could you post a picture of the yarn to help identify it? I've attached a picture of "Galaxy" although not in the colour you mentioned was wondering if this is it?

Sure, I've attached a photo of a ball of the leftover yarn from about 6 years ago. Thanks for taking the time,

Are you sure this is a Bernat yarn? It looks very similar to homespun.

Yes, thanks all, the yarn is Lion Brand "Fiesta" although I'd been sure it was Bernat. The pattern is a Vogue pattern. Thank you for solving the mystery.
