Get out the knitting needles and actually MAKE something!! :knit: (The little scarf for my amigurumi reindeer doesn't count, but it DID plant the seed!). it will be like learning all over again after so many years :reading: But I'm ready for the challenge. Everyone always told me that if I could teach myself to crochet just using all the old "how to crochet" books and illustrations, then learning to knit would be easy. Now I have all this great on-line help, so it should be a cinch. Right???!!!
I'm already perusing some knit patterns. We'll see what KAL Bernat has in store this year.

Check out the beginner knit KALs we already had here in the forum. Several forum members learned with them.

And to think I thought I was the only one that didn't finish! I have all the pieces made, just never got around to sewing them all together. Maybe after I finish all the baby stuff???

I'm still out there with only a few of the crochet motifs done. I think I did all of #1 and 2, and a few each of 3 and 4. Pretty much at that point, I had decided to wait to see what the finished product was going to be like, because I really was not liking the way it was shaping up. If I had seen it as a completed pattern, I would not have made it. I think I was hoping for a more dense crochet design, so after the last clue, I opted not to complete it. It just wasn't to my liking, even though there were some very beautiful and creative blankets done by everyone. (Just a personal preference.) Eventually I'll most likely frog the ones that I did, and just stash the yarn. Humm.....maybe after I get this knitting thing down, I can work on the KAL for last year.....at least do some of the motifs for a pillow or something. :knit:

You might like some of the designs in the Bernat Waverly pattern books. I am in LOVE with some of those blankets, and I have enough of the Waverly yarns to choose from several of them.

Well, all the Christmas decorations are down and the house is almost back to normal.
I love how festive everything looks with the decorations up, but I'm always glad to get everything cleaned up, organized, and put away.
Now tomorrow, I'm working on getting all my leftover yarn labeled from the projects I've done in the last few months. My little crochet area in our family room needs some tidy-ing up!

Do you know if it's going to be a girl or boy? I am working on things for a little boy. His Mom is another friend of My Granddaughter's.
