Hi everyone! I'm Kim and I am a 5th generation Texan - currently I live outside of Waco in Central Texas.
I have been crocheting since I was about 8 (about 35 years ago) from a friend's aunt, and have tried a couple of times in the past to knit but always went back to crochet as it was faster. I dusted off the knitting needles for the KAL this year, and plan on doing both the KAL and CAL. As far as projects, I have knitted a scarf and a couple of dishcloths. Crochet - well, that's another story. I've made afghans, baby blankets, toys, scarfs, sweaters, Easter baskets, hats...
I work full time with the blind and visually impaired, and am just starting my doctorate program. I love to cook, read, travel, Zumba, crochet, sew, and go anywhere off the beaten path ( there's a story there about the world's largest prarie dog and a six legged calf...). I love to crochet something mindless while I watch TV in the winter - usually Castle, Justified, Big Bang Theory, NCIS or Criminal Minds. Still can't knit mindlessly, but I can't wait to improve my skills with the KAL. I also belong to the local Lions Club.
Shandeh, I think you're right about Christians multitasking - I know I always have several balls of yarn in the air at a time
Or maybe it's just from being a woman
