From Canada

If you feel like talking about something that isn't knit- or crochet-related, feel free to do so here.

Now if that isn't classic Canadian, I don't know what is! Good for you!

Hi Dianne in Hamilton. I went to Zellers too, but they didn't have all the colours :( , so I had to order online. Thanks Bernat website! I also went to Michaels like some people mentioned, and it was true it was marked half price and as a seasonal item - I got two skeins for $5! But the hitch was that there were only about two or three colours of each family colour available, so I couldn't have got my entire supply there either.

Through it all I have picked up a few extra skeins here and there so I can do some coordinating cushions, etc. later.

My needles need to be 4.5 mm too - it takes me longer to get my blocks done than some of these fine whizzers out there. :knit: It's true though that the second block went faster than the first, and perhaps that will keep going in that direction. I'm going to need some serious motivation to finish 6 more of the same and I'm counting on everyone's posts to keep me going. I'm kinda bad at repetition, which is why I've never done an afghan before!

Absolutely...it's a blast. Hope there is one next year too. Great way to put in some of these winter months.

Right there with everyone else. This is my first KAL and I'm really enjoying it. I will definitely be participating again. Might even work up the nerve to attempt the CAL (although I have never been able to follow a crochet pattern very well).

How is everyone doing? I am loving this and it's the first time I've had motivation and encouragement to get through the bumps of a larger project. Week 3 was kinda tough, but now at week 5 it's encouraging to see the ideas of how these blocks may all fit together!

I'm so lucky to be from Ontario and close to a Bernat outlet store. Hello to all the knitters and crocheters.

Bernat has outlet stores? Where is the closest one? Not that I need any more yarn right now!

Listowel has Spinrite outlet and they make some Bernat products there.
