It doesn't matter. Just make sure you write down which color you are choosing for B, C, and D.
You will need to be consistent throughout the entire KAL.

It looks like there is an error in clue 1. Once you have 7 stitches, we are supposed to knit the last two rows 26 times which gives an increase of 2 sts. 26 times -- 52 stitches. Add that to the 7 stitches and that gives 59.

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and started and I did record the colors I chose. I just wanted to be sure I was starting off correctly ;-)

If you downloaded the clue earlier in the day, there was an error. It has been fixed now. We only need to repeat for 24 rows and end up with 55 stitches.

Should we be marking these blocks 1A and 1B or something similar to make the future assembly easier?
Clue 1: 5 of 8 completed, may re-do 2
Clue 2: 3 of 4 completed
Clue 3: 5 of 8 completed, will re-do 1

I am keeping all my Clue 1 blocks in one large ziplock bag.
I'll do the same with each new set of blocks.

Option #1: Well,...you could start ripping it out and start a gauge swatch. I thought I would be able to pick up my size 8 needles and just go. I took the time to do a gauge swatch and realized I needed a smaller size needle because I am a relaxed knitter. It sounds like you knit a little tighter, so you may want to try a size 9 needle. Do yourself a favor and take the time to do a gauge swatch. You do not want to run out of yarn, or have an afghan that's a lot smaller than stated.

Option#2: If you knit all your squares the same size you will probably be ok. As long as they all measure up to 9 inches, you will have a blanket that might be a little smaller. I would think you would have yarn left over.
