That's about how long it's taking me, too. Just think about how much quicker we'll be when the ghan is finished though!!!

I found it went much quicker after squares two and three, you just need to get in the groooove!

I have never participated in a KAL before and I am so excited to get started. I hate that I have gotten a late start and will be knitting the weekend away once I have purchased my yarn, which, will not be until Saturday morning.

Tips that made it easier for me

Postby Hknitty » Thu Feb 16, 2012 4:45 pm

Just finishing my first block and to keep up with the pattern ( as I am constantly interrupted by family comings and goings), I attached a small safety pin to the side of the work where the increases-decreases are done. Now all I have to do is to watch as my stitches grow when I get near the final count before changing colour- works for me!

I just finished my square, i then noticed on the bottom saying to knit 26 rows instead of 24. wouldn't that mean we would go up in total stitches because I had 55 stitches, so would we end up with 57 instead of 55 or did I do something wrong to begin with??

There was an error on the pattern if you downloaded it earlier in the day. It should be a total of 55 stitches after repeating 24 times.

I was doing this until I realized I almost made mistakes by only increasing once at the beginning of a row. I'd forget by the end what I was supposed to be doing!

Is this an age thing or just repeatedly knit stitch mindlessness? :idonno:

Anyway, with my checklist, my marker for the increase side and counting my stitches every two rows I have managed to avoid désastre! :crown:

Great minds think alike! I'm doing the same thing. :knit:

Once you finish the first of a clue, the rest will go faster.
And remember if you dont finish on time, the world will not come to a end.

Well said! Not to mention also the real possibility of getting a sore wrist from all the repeated movement! :|
My arm was darn tired by the end of the day, so I'm not going to push it.

Here I am chatting and posting instead of knitting but I'm having so much fun! :D

Me too and me too :!:

I would love to see those colours together - sounds spectacular.
