Is the square too big because it's garter stitch? Should I use the squares if they end up being 10"? I don't want to run out of yarn because I'm afraid it'd be too hard to find more yarn in the same dye lot. So would I be better off to go down to a size 6 needle to see what size I get? Has anyone else gotten 9.5" squares with a size 8 needle? Just curious.
