Trudi,
Don't feel guilty about using your own stash. If I had enough in my stash I would be doing the same thing. I love your colors!

Have my first 4 squares on the board for blocking. My colors are B-Aqua Frost, C-Birch White, D-Butter. The colors are much prettier in person than what they look like in the picture. I made a mistake on the decrease rows for the first two squares. I'll see later if it bothers me enough to correct it on a catch-up week. I am half way done with my 5th square, will be lucky to get 6 done this week.

This is my first time doing a KAL, but I am an experienced knitter. I have really enjoyed seeing everyone else's pictures and hearing about your progress. So far I have completed 4 of the squares, blocked 3, and am halfway through #5. I can't wait for the next clue. I didn't get as bored with the first clue as I thought I would. Not a huge fan of garter stitch but doing these on the diagonal keeps my mind awake. I love the soft squishy feel of the finished squares! :cloud9:

Your squares look beautiful! I see that you are blocking them. I was wondering if you could give me any tips for blocking. What is the material you have under your squares that looks like paper? I am not new to knitting but fairly new to blocking and I am always looking for new tips and tricks! Thanks for any advice you have to give...

Being a student in theatre the word 'blocking' has a whole other meaning for me, but seeing what is being done it seems kind of interesting. From what I read researched blocking is 'stretching and shaping a finished knitted piece to reach the dimensions suggested in the pattern', so does that mean that my 8 inch squares can be stretched to 9 1/2" without distorting the look, or is that too much?

Thank you! I really don't have experience with blocking. I watched the tutorial video which is very helpful. I measured and marked the 9 1/2" squares with a sharpie on parchment paper. Then turned it around so that the marker wouldn't bleed into the yarn. Pinned it all onto a a thin foam board. I figured the parchment paper would waterproof the board from the spray mist.

What do you think, should I start the new one on Wed. even if I have a few more of the first clue to do then when I finish that come back, or just keep going on 1 until I'm done? Don't know which to do.

I've only completed three of clue 1 so far and there is no way on this earth I will get them finished before the next clue comes out. My plan is to do one of the next clue when it does come out so I know what it is like and I can understand it's quirks etc (and if there is a couple of colourways maybe one in each colourway) and then come back to clue one and then come back to finish clue 2 , 3 etc and hope that we get to one of those catch up weeks.

do we block them ourselves in terms of how we want the colors to match or will it be part of the clue somewhere along the way?

So I have uploaded one of my squares - I will be done the 4th one this evening and will start my color change square either tonight or tomorrow.

The square is Butter and Birch White.
