Finished my first two squares. One for each color combination. My 5 year old son loves them, and since this is for him that's the most important thing.

I just hope I can manage to get one more done before clue 2 comes out. I have a feeling I'll be working on clue 1 for awhile longer. Hopefully the next couple of clues for both the CAL and KAL will go fairly quickly so I can catch up on these.

I just did it this way because of the size of my board. I remember from my past quilting experience that there are a lot of different combinations with this type of square.
Clue 1: 5 of 8 completed, may re-do 2
Clue 2: 3 of 4 completed
Clue 3: 5 of 8 completed, will re-do 1

The end is in sight! Only half a square left to go! Almost there..... :knit:

Looking at how little yarn I have left here - no wonder my hands are getting numb! We will have used up nearly 4 skeins of the 13!

Help! what am I doing wrong. After finishing the 2nd half of my square I got a kite shape, think I might have missed doing some decreases. I ripped out the purple half and re-did it writing out how many rows and what the stitch count should be after each row of decrease. It still came out a bit off but much better than my 1st try.

So my question, am I reading the pattern right that after increasing to 55 stitches there is one more row knitted to complete the repeat the 2 rows 24 times, then change color and the decreases should be worked on the same side as the increases. After working down to 5 stitches there is also a row of knit to again get it to the correct side for doing the final rows of decrease???

I am using yarn I had not the Waverly.

I mean- it takes me 4 mins per row average, and there are 100 rows, so it is taking me approx 4-5 hours a square. And to make 8 will take me 40 HOURS. Wow. Or! Should I challenge myself and do the diagonals. Hmmm. . . . .

You DEFINITELY need to make the square on the diagonal. Otherwise, when you put the squares together, the design will be all wrong.

I hate to frog the whole block, but need to make it bigger. :hrmm:

That's a good idea!

Bernat Yarn has a YouTube channel for all the videos: http://www.youtube.com/user/BernatYarn

I'm sure you'll be able to see them for quite a while.
And I'm also sure you can find a way to download them, since they are on YouTube.

Good luck with your degree!
